About Me
𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐌𝐞
I fell in love with fitness as a teenager. I didn’t have access to a gym, and money was tight, but that didn’t stop me. While other kids were out, I was in my bedroom doing pushups and sit-ups—quietly, privately, because I didn’t want my family to know. The moment I was old enough to join my high school gym, I did. And when I joined the military, I was in heaven—I finally had a place where movement and strength were a part of my daily life.

But like many women, my path was shaken by someone’s careless words. A single comment about how fit women “look like men” made me question everything. For nearly a decade, I stepped away from fitness—until one day, I realized I missed it. I missed feeling powerful. I missed taking care of myself. And when I came back, I came back strong. I became a professional bodybuilder in record time.
After my time on the competitive stage, my mission shifted. I wanted to help other women reach their own health and fitness goals—not just for aesthetics, but for confidence, energy, and strength.
Today, at 44 years old, I’m a healthy, vibrant mom to a beautiful toddler. I have the strength to keep up with her, the energy to pour into my business, and the deep conviction that 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟𝐢𝐬𝐡—𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥.
After my pregnancy, I discovered 𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐲, and I was honestly skeptical at first. How could these wooden tools possibly help me feel better in my body? But the moment I tried it, I was sold. Not just by the physical results, but by how 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥, 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 the practice felt.
𝐖𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐲—or maderoterapia—is a holistic massage technique that originated in Asian perfected in Colombia. It uses specially crafted wooden tools to stimulate circulation, break down cellulite, reduce water retention, and contour the body. It’s a practice that connects ancient tradition with modern self-care, and it quickly became part of my daily ritual.
I never planned to turn it into a business—but in 2023, I launched 𝐈𝐧 𝐌𝐲 𝐙𝐨𝐧𝐞 )𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐲 𝐎𝐰𝐧 𝐅𝐢𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬). I created this brand during one of the hardest chapters of my life—mentally and emotionally drained, I chose to focus all my energy on fitness and healing instead of losing myself to distraction as I used to deal with things in the past.
“𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬” became my personal mantra—and now, I hope it becomes yours too. It’s about taking back your power, owning your body, and not letting anyone define how you age, how you move, or how you show up in the world.
